The University of South Carolina at Lancaster Lancers fell to Pitt Community College in a pair of weekend doubleheaders.
The Lancers, on Sunday, fell 6-2 and 5-2.
In the three-run loss, Andrew Ansley, 3-1, took the defeat in five innings of work. He allowed four runs – three earned, six hits and two walks. Ansley fanned four. Kyle Downs hurled a third of an inning and allowed a run and a walk. Cam Baker, in two thirds of an inning, gave up two walks and a hit.
Tripp Faulk led the USCL offense with two hits, including a triple, and drove in a run. Casey Cooper also had a pair of hits. Corey Frye, who drove in a run, had a hit as did Beau Brooks and Brandon Faulkenberry. Kody Klack had a RBI.
In the 6-2 loss, Dylan Parker, 3-4, took the loss in five innings. He fanned seven and allowed six runs – an earned run, three hits, three walks and hit a batter.
Will Simpson pitched an inning and allowed two hits.
Trey Deason led the offense with two hits. Casey Cooper, Beau Brooks and Simpson had a hit each. Corey Frye and Casey Seay each drove in a run.
The Lancers dropped two losses Saturday, falling 9-8 and 8-2.
In the one-run setback, Trevor Hammond, 3-3, took the loss in 6.1 innings of work. Hammond allowed nine runs – four earned, nine hits and an intentional walk. He whiffed two.
Kody Klack led the offense with four hits and drove in two runs. Casey Cooper had three hits. Will Simpson and Richie Poston had two hits and two RBIs. Corey Frye had two hits. Casey Seay supplied a hit and drove in a run.
In the opener, USCL fell 8-2 as Jacob Hill, 2-4, went three innings and gave up eight earned runs, six hits, five walks and hit a batter. Alex Davidson, in three frames, yielded two hits and two walks.
Casey Seay led the offense with two hits, including a solo homer. Will Simpson and Kody Klack each had a hit.
