A Lancaster man has been charged with kidnapping after a woman told police she was afraid to leave her apartment.
Leon Lee White, 45, 1802 Pardue St., has also been charged with second-offense criminal domestic violence.
According to a Lancaster Police Department incident report, a woman called police about 7 a.m. Saturday and said she had gotten into an argument with the suspect about 3:30 a.m. The woman said White hit her on the back of the head. The report said the woman had a painful knot on the back of her head.
The woman told police she tried to get away, but White twisted her arm and told her she wasn’t going anywhere and slammed her into a wall, the report said. She said she was afraid to call the police for fear that White would hurt her again.
The woman said she went into another bedroom at the apartment and went to sleep. Police found White asleep in another bedroom. The report said he told police he was asleep all night and didn’t know how the woman got into his apartment. He did say that he and the woman got into an argument but denied hitting her, the report said.
The report said White was charged with kidnapping because the woman was afraid and was unable to leave the apartment when she wanted to.
