A Lancaster man remains behind bars after he reportedly shot at an occupied car after an argument on Rock Street on Monday.

Lancaster police have charged Kevin Marquie Montgomery, 20, of 202 Pacer Drive, with two counts of assault with intent to kill.

He's also charged with possession of a pistol by a person convicted of a violent crime, possession of a pistol by a person under 21, pointing and presenting a firearm and malicious injury to property.

Two women in a Dodge Stratus sped into the Municipal Justice Center parking lot, ran inside and began screaming at the dispatch window late Monday afternoon.

One of the women told authorities that Montgomery shot at their vehicle for no reason. An officer saw a fresh bullet hole on the driver's side rear quarter panel, just below the fuel door, according to a police report.

The driver told authorities that Montgomery had called her earlier in the day, wanting her to come to Lancaster. She agreed to meet him near McDonald Green Elementary School, where he paid for her gas at a nearby gas station, the report said.

While she was inside a store, Montgomery and the other woman sat inside the vehicle.

That woman told police that Montgomery flashed a gun and said he was going to shoot the other woman if she left him. When the driver got back in the car, Montgomery, sitting in the back seat, pointed the pistol at the two women.

The driver told police she drove Montgomery to Rock Street.

When they arrived, Montgomery got out the car and started fighting with a woman there.

The women in the car said Montgomery put the revolver against this woman's face and pushed her to the ground, the report said. He also threatened to shoot her several times, the report said.

As the women in the car started to leave, they heard a gunshot. They then drove to the Municipal Justice Center, the report said.

The women gave a description of Montgomery.

Police spotted Montgomery, who was with several people in a yard, including a woman whose face was swollen from an apparent attack, the report said.

Lancaster police records show that Montgomery was charged in 2006 with shoplifting and assault and battery.

He is being held at the Lancaster County Detention Center on a $33,092 bond.
