Lancaster High swimmers sweep to region win over York

The Lancaster High School swim team improved to 7-1 with a sweep of Region III-AAAA foe York on Tuesday, Sept. 10.

The LHS girls prevailed 111-35 and the LHS boys posted a 126-37 victory over the York boys.

Hannah Jacobs and Lauren Spencer each had two wins for the Lady Bruins. Baileigh Sizemore and Gracie Scott each added a first.

Juan Oller led the LHS boys with two wins. Kyle Smith, Luke Sowell, Bryce Blanton, Jonah Page and Adam Augeson each added a first.

Lancaster hosted Clover on Thursday and visits Nation Ford on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

The region meet is Saturday, Sept. 28 and the state meet is set for Saturday, Oct. 5

LHS cross country sweeps meet

The Lancaster High School cross country teams are off to fast starts on the 2013 fall season.

The LHS girls are 3-0, while the boys sport a 3-1 mark.

The Lady Bruins swept a three-way meet, with a 24 to Indian Land’s 33, Great Falls’ 75 and Chester NS.

The Bruins scored 19 points to top a field of Indian Land 40, Chester 81 and Great Falls NS.

“We’re off to a great start,” LHS coach Josh Pauling said.
