The Lancaster Dixie Baseball AA all-stars, ages 7-8, remained unbeaten in district tournament play with a 7-3 win over host Chester on Wednesday night.

The Lancaster stars returned to Chester on Thursday, seeking a win to wrap up the district title and a bid to the state tournament.

The state tournament begins July 7 in Lexington.

A loss to Chester on Thursday would force a rubber game to be played tonight.

In the win over Chester on Wednesday, J.P. Cunningham paced the AA stars offense with a triple. Kevin Wooden, Landon Deese, Austin Kennington and Jarret Laney each smashed a double to aid the Lancaster AA stars’ victory.

The Lancaster Dixie Baseball AA stars opened district play in Chester, taking a 17-2 win over Lewisville.

J.P. Cunningham had an inside-the-park home run to boost the AA stars’ 15-run win. Tanner McLemore and Tyler Trimnal each had a triple in the Lancaster victory.
