INDIAN LAND – Indian Land forged a 2-0 halftime lead on the way to a 3-0 Class AA Upper State playoff win over county and Region IV-AA foe Andrew Jackson on Wednesday, May 8.
The Lady Warriors, 13-4, received three goals from Shalyn Dougherty who scored in the 21st minute, 26th minute and 44th minute.
Dougherty was assisted by Raquel Addamo, Kayla Groll and Katherine Kilroy.
Indian Land had 18 shot to five for the Lady Vols.
Indian Land’s Isabella Maia, who notched the shutout, had three saves.
Indian Land advances to face St. Josephs, which took a 4-2 win over Southside Christian. The match will be played on Friday.
Indian Land opened the Class AA Upper State playoffs with a 7-0 home win over the Governors School on Monday, May 6.
Andrew Jackson, which finished 15-4, opened the playoffs with a 2-0 win over Mid-Carolina.
In that match, Taylor Blackmon tallied both goals for the Lady Vols.
“I was real proud of our girls,” AJ coach Lee Hanna. “We had a good season. We have a good group coming back.”
The AJ Lady Vols seniors are Micah Helms and Crystal Hayes.
