COLUMBIA – The Lady Bishops of Bishop England High School went on a 15-0 run to cap the first quarter of the Class AA girls basketball state title game on Saturday, March 8, at the Colonial Life Arena to top the Andrew Jackson High School Lady Volunteers 59-26.

The score was 10-7 midway the first period, but the B-E run, along with a cold-shooting Andrew Jackson team, which only managed three points in the second quarter, gave BEHS a 39-10 halftime advantage the Lady Vols could not overcome.

The Lady Vols season ends at 23-4, while the Lady Bishops compiled a 27-1 record.
