Lady Lancers take 3 wins

The University of South Carolina Lady Lancers softball team took three of four games from USC Salkehatchie in games played April 6-7.

USCL captured the nightcap on April 7 with a 10-7 win.

Callie Wayne was the winner, going five innings and allowing six hits, seven runs, four earned runs and two walks. She fanned seven.

Kayla Lloyd earned the save, going two frames and allowing only two walks.

Lloyd drilled a game-winning RBI-double to snap a 7-all draw.

Anna Wilbourne led the USCL offense with three hits, two runs scored and two RBIs. Wayne aided her cause with two hits, including a two-run home run, three RBIs and two runs scored. Katie Rowell rapped two hits and drove in two runs. Tiffany Chapman chipped in two hits and tallied two runs. Ashley Williams had a hit and scored two runs. Dacia O’Neal added a hit.

In the opener, USCS edged USCL, 10-9.

Kayla Lloyd took the loss in seven innings of work, allowing 13 hits, 10 runs, eight earned runs and a walk. She fanned two.

Tiffany Chapman led the offense with three hits, two RBIs and scored a run. Amanda Burr had two hits, including a two-run double, and scored a run. Callie Wayne had two hits and tallied a run. Lloyd smashed a two-run homer and drove in three runs.

Ashley Williams supplied two hits and scored twice. Dacia O’Neal had a hit and drove in a run. Daphne Honeycutt and Rebecka Tims each had a hit and scored a run. Haley Vachon added a hit.

The USCL softball team swept two games Saturday, April 6, winning 2-1, 8-7. In game one, Kayla Lloyd went seven frames in a complete, yielding nine hits, a run, an earned run and a walk. She fanned two.

Amanda Burr had  a hit and and drove in a run. Lloyd rapped a double. Tiffany Chapman chipped in a hit and scored a run.

Anna Wilbourne, Katie Rowell and Jamee Blackmon each had a hit. Ashley Williams reached as she was hit by a pitch twice and tallied a run.

The Lady Lancers topped the Lady Indians, 8-7 to cap the sweep.

Amanda Burr led the offense with three hits, including a two-run single in the bottom of the sixth to win the game. Burr drove in three runs and scored a run. Ashley Williams drilled two hits, including a double, and scored two runs. Haley Vachon had two hits and drove in a run.

Tiffany Chapman belted a two-run homer and scored two runs. Anna Wilbourne had a hit and tallied two runs. Dacia O’Neal had a hit.
