The University of South Carolina Lady Lancers’ softball team took one win in four games with the Pitt Community College Lady Bulldogs on Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17.
The Lady Lancers’ lone win came Sunday, March 17 when USCL posted a 4-1 win over Pitt.
Callie Wayne’s grand slam home run in the top of the seventh lifted USCL to the win.
Wayne hurled the win, going seven innings and allowing five hits, one run, no earned runs and two walks. She struck out five.
Amanda Burr, Anna Wilbourne and Catie Rowell each had a hit and scored a run. Tiffany Chapman and Ashley Williams each had a hit.
In the opener, Pitt topped USCL, 5-1 as Kayla Lloyd took the loss in six innings, allowing 10 hits, five runs, four earned runs and a walk.
Anna Wilbourne led the Lady Lancers offense with two hits. Tiffany Chapman had a hit and scored a run. Amanda Burr and Daphne Honeycutt each had a hit.
Pitt took two wins in the March 16 twin bill, 10-4 and 11-3.
In the six-run USCL loss, Kayla Lloyd took the loss in three frames of work. She allowed eight hits, 10 runs, five earned runs and a walk. She fanned two.
Callie Wayne, in three innings, yielded two hits, no runs and two walks. She whiffed four.
Amanda Burr paced the USCL offense with two hits and scored a run. Tiffany Chapman smashed a two-run home run.
Ashley Williams and Rebecka Tims each had a hit. Williams tallied a run as did Dacia O’Neal. Daphne Honeycutt was twice hit by a pitch, including once with the bases loaded to drive in a run. Wayne also had a bases-loaded walk.
The Lady Bulldogs completed the opening day sweep with an 11-3 win over the USCL women.

Kayla Lloyd went two innings, giving up two hits and a run. She struck out one.
Amanda Burr led the offense with a hit, RBI and scored a run. Lloyd had a hit and Tiffany Chapman added a hit and tallied a run. Ashley Williams scored a run. She walked and was also hit by a pitch.
