The Lancaster High Lady Bruins will be hosting a three-day tournament which begins Thursday at Memorial Stadium.

The LHS girls will be seeking their fourth straight preseason soccer tournament championship.

The Lady Bruins’ previous three crowns came in the Cyclone Cup tournament in Chester, but the tournament was canceled due to a coaching change at Chester.

In order to continue this preseason tradition for the LHS girls, Lancaster picked up the tournament.

“We have enjoyed participating in the past and have always considered it an important part of our preseason training,” Lancaster High coach Bo Sylvia said. “We are happy to continue this tradition with the participation of Chester, Lugoff-Elgin, and York high schools.

“The girls are very proud of their accomplishments at this tournament, having won it for the past three years in a row against different opponents,” he said. “This tournament is an excellent opportunity for us to test our fitness, technical and tactical ideas in a three-day festival of different styles of futbol.

“After Saturday, we should have some good ideas of player rotations, leadership qualities, toughness, and other areas that we must improve upon as our region schedule begins the following week with a trip to Gaffney. We are excited to host this tournament and hope that many fans will come and enjoy this tournament each night and Saturday,” Sylvia said.

Tournament admission is $5 per person each day.

A concession stand will be open each day, offering many delicious treats for the fans.
