The Lancaster Lady Bruins tennis team remained undefeated with their fourth region win, a hard-fought 4-2 home win over Fort Mill on Thursday.

The Lady Bruins took a 2-0 lead after strong matches from Lyndsey Hegler and Sara Hicks. Fort Mill evened the score at 2 after wins at singles spots 4 and 5. LHS took the lead for good on the heels of the No. 2 doubles win by Almudena Torralbo and Erica Moses. Almudena and Erica took the first set by 6-1 score and finally capped the back-and-forth second  set with a 6-4 score. Not to be outdone was Carley Adams who capped the matches  with an emotional 6-4, 7-6 win at No. 3 singles.

The win included an extremely tight second set  finally decided with a 7-2 tiebreak win for Adams. The lone JV match saw Leann Jewell prevail 8-7 with a 7-4 tiebreaker win.

LHS improved to 5-0 overall, 4-0 region record. LHS is next in action Tuesday, Sept. 18 against the region’s preseason favorite and perennial tennis powerhouse Clover.
