The Lancaster High Lady Bruins moved their volleyball mark to 4-2 with a 3-0 win over Fairfield Central High School of Winnsboro on Monday night in the LHS gym.
The Lady Bruins disposed of the Lady Griffins, 25-14, 25-20 and 25-13.
Hayden Thorne posted six kills and five aces for the Lady Bruins.
Elizabeth Gaston notched five kills and six digs.
Kaylen Thorne tallied five kills and Tara Brooks had seven assists for the LHS girls.
Lancaster, 0-2 in league play, was looking to post its first region win on Tuesday when the Lady Bruins hosted York.
LHS hosts Fort Mill on Thursday with a region twin bill.
The junior varsity match is set for 5 p.m., with the varsity match slated for 6:30.
In matches last week, the Lady Bruins fell to Nation Ford, 3-0 and Northwestern High School in Rock Hill, 3-0.
"We came out flat against Nation Ford, but played much better at Northwestern on Thursday where we had our best hitting percentage yet," LHS coach Betsi O'Shields said.
LHS golfers win
The Lancaster High School girls golf team is 4-0-1 on the season after a four-way match on Monday when the LHS girls went 3-0-1.
The Lady Bruins defeated York, Rock Hill and Union and tied Clover for first with a 189.
The Lancaster girls defeated Nation Ford last Thursday when they posted a 186, with Baylee Evans earning medalist honors with a 38.
The LHS team, led by coach Scott Roberts, include girls who attend middle and high school in Lancaster County.
