On April 17, Donna White, of Lancaster, led the Walk for Ryan.

It was a fundraiser honoring the memory of her son, Ryan, who struggled with Kleine-Levin Syndrome and tragically died of unrelated health complications.

Donna’s event raised $3,500 for the Kleine-Levin Syndrome Foundation’s research fund.

Although the Foundation acknowledged and thanked Donna for her work and the money she raised, we neglected to thank the community of Lancaster for supporting Donna in her efforts to help find a cause and a cure of KLS.

I would like to thank all of the members of Donna’s fundraising committee and all those in the community who attended and/or participated in the day’s events.

This was the fourth annual Walk for Ryan and the Lancaster community has always shown great generosity in this event.

Although I was personally unable to attend this year’s event, I did attend last year’s Walk for Ryan where I felt the warmth of the community and saw their generous spirit.

I apologize for not thanking this wonderful community earlier for all they have done for the Kleine-Levin Syndrome Foundation.
