A way to get outside and take in some of nature’s beauty is one reason behind the Junior Ranger program featured at Andrew Jackson State Park.
AJ State Park is located north of Lancaster off U.S. 521.
“Children are not getting in nature like in generations past,” said Laura Ledford, the AJ State Park interpretive ranger. “Parents and communities need to find ways to get kids outside.”
AJ State Park is one of 16 statewide sites chosen to host the program that seeks to involve children exploring nature.
