Like most readers, over and over again, I have watched the John Spratt TV commercial describing Mick Mulvaney’s role in the Edenmoor project.
After viewing the ad dozens of times, I decided to try and find out what the true facts are or were. I suggest that other readers do the same.
I discovered that the commercial is very misleading and leaves the viewer with a completely false impression of what the situation really is or was. Lancaster County did not issue $30 million of bonds, the Lancaster taxpayer is not on the hook for repayment of any bonds issued, and Mr. Mulvaney was not even involved in the project when the developer went under.
Congressman John Spratt should be embarrassed to be connected with such a negative commercial.
If he has any self-respect, Mr. Spratt should refute the message conveyed by this totally unfair and misleading ad.
