Buford broke open a tight Region IV-AA baseball game, igniting for five runs in the sixth inning on the way to an 8-4 win over county foe Andrew Jackson on Friday night at Buford Park.
BHS, up 3-1, rallied for the five spot to forge an 8-1 lead on the Vols.
AJ rallied for three in the top of the seventh, but the Jackets had done too much damage the inning prior to take the win.
Jackets’ right-hander Colt Ellis, a recent USCL signee, hurled six innings and allowed a run, four hits, three walks and hit a batter. Ellis struck out seven.
