INDIAN LAND – As Christmas Eve dawned chilly and cloudy, the Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Department was alive with activity as volunteers loaded firetrucks, U-Haul trucks and other vehicles with gifts and food to be delivered in the Panhandle area during the 21st annual Panhandle Christmas Drive.
Both Pleasant Valley and Indian Land volunteer fire departments participate in the event, which begins when names are placed on an angel tree by Indian Land schools.
