I-77 Speedway hosting annual Chester Shrine Race on Saturday

The annual Chester County Shrine Club Race will be held Saturday, Sept. 8 at the I-77 Speedway.

Race proceeds will go to the Shriners Hospitals For Children.

The I-77 Speedway will be running a packed program Saturday night.

The program will include Limited Late Models ($2000 to win), NDRA GM Performance Late Models ($1,500 to win), Super Street ($600), Crate Sportsman ($600), Renegade ($600), Semi-Mod 4 ($600) and U-CARS ($200).

Lancaster Motor Speedway is not running this week, so expect a host of area drivers to be in the field at Chester on Saturday.

The track gates open at 3 p.m. for the pits and 4 for the stands.

The draw window opens at 4 p.m. and closes at 5:30. The hot laps are scheduled to begin at 5:45 p.m.

Admission is $15 for the stands and $25 for the pits. I-77 Speedway is located in Chester County.

From Lancaster, take S.C. 9 West and follow through Fort Lawn to Richburg and watch for the track on the right.
