Amid the hustle and bustle of the official kick-off to the yuletide season, it’s also time for the annual Ward Faulkenberry Memorial Christmas Basket – a more than half-century tradition of neighbor-helping-neighbor in Lancaster.
The project is spearheaded by HOPE (Helping Other People Effectively) in Lancaster, a faith-based, nonprofit, volunteer-driven organization that provides short-term emergency assistance to families in crisis.
Ann Blackmon, co-interim executive director of HOPE said the annual drive has become a holiday mainstay.
