Those of you who like R&B, contemporary rock and a little country rock missed a treat if you weren’t at Bradley Auditorium on Oct. 16. Edwin McCain never disappoints. He even has some new stories. His saxaphone player is excellent and is given ample solos during concerts.
If McCain returns to Lancaster, I hope there will be a larger audience. It’s good to support the arts, but even better to support South Carolina artists.
The opening act, Eric Baker from Tennessee, was good, but his accompanist was an awesome musician. Mr. Reese (didn’t catch the first name) played keyboard and violin. I hope the man has a bright future in the music business. Some of Eric Baker’s chord combinations reminded me of the original Appalachian mountain music. Baker surely grew up hearing that music.
Many thanks to Jimola Wade and the Performing Artists Series for bringing this concert to Lancaster. It was a fun night out for my daughter and me.
