South Carolina taxpayers now have more time to sign up for free credit monitoring in the wake of the massive data breach announced a few months ago.
Gov. Nikki Haley’s office announced Dec. 21 that anyone who’s filed a South Carolina tax return since 1998 has until March 31, 2013, to register for the service, which is provided by the company Experian.
The deadline for registration had been Jan. 31.
