When a friend told Traci Carnes Watterson about the need for an executive director at the Lancaster affiliate of Habitat for Humanity, she was immediately interested.
Watterson, 34, of Buford, had been working for Bank of America in uptown Charlotte, but had always been interested in community service. So, she applied for the position and, after an interview process and approval by the board, became the executive director on Nov. 1.
