I have had the opportunity to work with the S.C. General Assembly for the better part of 40 years. Most of this time was spent with the Department of Natural Resources in the Division of Marine Resources. During that time, few members of the General Assembly demonstrated a greater commitment to wildlife, coastal marine and forestry conservation than Greg Gregory.
His success in the hard-fought battle of wills in 2002 to protect the red drum fish from over-fishing is just one example of his legislative accomplishments.
In addition, he was the primary sponsor of a successful bill that granted the state the ability to purchase more than 30,000 acres of undeveloped land along the Little Pee Dee and Savannah rivers to be used by future generations of outdoor enthusiasts.
Greg had always placed principle over politics and possesses the leadership qualities to again successfully serve the people of Senate District 16 with great distinction and determination. I am hopeful that the voters will return him to the Senate.
