Great American Cleanup set for Saturday

-A A +A

Indian Land’s participation in the Great American Cleanup kicks off on Saturday, as the Indian Land Community Clean-up Week begins. Volunteers will be throughout the Indian Land community during the week of April 2-9 picking up litter discarded on our local roads. Please slow down and drive carefully when you see volunteers.
During that week, you will see volunteers in brightly colored vests picking up litter on Marvin, River, Jim Wilson, Shelley Mullis, Calvin Hall, Barberville, Harrisburg, Van Wyck and Steele Hill roads, S.C. 160 and U.S. 521,  as well as around subdivisions entrances.
The sheriff’s litter control crew will also be in Indian Land picking up litter on other roads in the area.
Supplies such as bags, gloves, vests are provided by South Carolina Palmetto Pride. Water has been donated by Harris Teeter. Bags will be placed near main roads for pick up by the county.
Again, please slow down when you see someone picking up litter.
