When life becomes as cheap as everything else what we end up with is Dr. Kermit Gosnell. On Monday, the Philadelphia abortion doctor was found guilty on three counts of first-degree murder and one count of involuntary manslaughter.
A more depraved, vicious, fiendish person you’d have a hard time finding. Gosnell was originally charged with severing the spinal cords of a at least seven babies, who were born alive after his botched abortions.
Gosnell was also charged with third-degree murder of Karnamaya Mongar, 41, who died from an drug overdose while undergoing an abortion at his clinic.
According to the Washington Post and other media outlets, witnesses said some of the babies were moaning and moving while they were stuffed into shoe boxes. Some had their skulls crushed and their body parts ended up in specimen jars.
It was reported that unsanitary instruments, unlicensed workers, unsupervised sedation, underage abortion patients and other horrors were common in this shop of repulsiveness.
It has also been reported that regulators failed to do their jobs despite complaints and obvious health violations. Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett (R) has called the lack of oversight by state officials “despicable.”
While abortion supporters agreed with Gosnell’s conviction, they also warned that changes in abortion laws could have major impact on women.
“We must reject misguided laws that would limit women’s options and force them to seek treatment from criminals like Kermit Gosnell,” Eric Ferrero, a spokesman for the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, said in a statement.
When the miracle of life is morphed into something meaningless, then nothing is sacred.
When overlookers of law disregard their duty to life, fascism sets in.
When murder becomes freedom then we truly are in hell.
