KERSHAW – When Beverly Timmons moved to Kershaw in 1976, she knew she wanted to help the community.

She noticed a lack of organizations to help the needy in the area. So, with help from the community, she founded the Community Clothes Closet in 1982.

Today that organization has grown into KARE, a nonprofit group that provides assistance to those in need in the county.
