GF man shoots himself while trying to take pistol apart

A Great Falls man remained hospitalized at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 11, a few days after accidentally shooting himself in the stomach.

The 46-year-old man was found by deputies just after 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, inside an apartment in the 1000 block of Woodcreek Apartments, which is off Meeting Street, after the man’s friend called 911, according to a Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office incident report. 

The man was lying on a kitchen floor with a towel on his stomach when deputies arrived.
