Gamecock Club sets spring meeting April 3

The Lancaster County Gamecock Club’s spring meeting is Thursday, April 3 in the University of South Carolina Lancaster’s Bradley Building.

A shrimp boil will be served at 6 p.m. and the program will follow.

Todd Ellis, the radio voice of Gamecocks’ football and a former USC star quarterback, is the guest speaker.

The USC cheerleaders and Cocky will attend.

The Lancaster County Gamecock Club board of directors is working to secure other speakers, and as speakers are added to the program, they will be announced.

Tickets are $20 and may be obtained from the following board members, Brian Casey (Catawba Tire) 283-3866, Joe Grier 285-4757, Glenda Powell 283-6556 and Vickie Porter 287-9700.

A raffle for two USC football season tickets will be held. The cost for the raffle ticket is $5. These tickets can also be purchased from board members.

An auction will also be held.

Auction items will include Jadeveon Clowney, Marcus Lattimore and Connor Shaw signed framed jerseys, Bruce Ellington signed game gloves, autographed footballs and other Gamecock memorabilia.

Facilities tour         set Feb. 22

The Gamecock Club is hosting a facilities tour Saturday, Feb. 22.

The tour will include The Dodie Anderson Academic Enrichment Center, Rice Athletics Center, softball stadium and Williams Brice Stadium.
