RICHBURG – Four Lancaster County prep football players were saluted for their play in games Friday night, Aug. 30.

The quartet included Lancaster High School’s Cam Meadows and Juanyae Richardson along with Indian Land’s Shea Rodgers and Andrew Jackson’s Tray King.

Meadows and Richardson were honored for their play in the Bruins’ 22-12 win over Andrew Jackson.

Meadows won the Division I Defensive Player of the Week with 17.5 tackles, three solo stops, four first hits, nine assists, 1.5 sacks and a tackle for loss.

Richardson was the Division I Defensive Lineman of the Week with 16 tackles (four solos, four assists, two first hits, four tackles for loss and two sacks).

AJ’s King earned the Division II Defensive Player of the Week with 12 total tackles, six tackles for loss, four sacks, a blocked punt return for a touchdown and a pass break-up.

Rodgers was the Division II Special Teams Player of the Week with a 30-yard field goal, an extra point, two touchbacks and a 45-yard punt in the Warriors’ 28-22 road loss to county foe Buford High School.

A pair of Indian Land players reaped Div. II honorable mention awards, Manny McCord (offensive player of the week) and Terrell White (defensive player).

Lancaster High School running back Kadarius Wright was a Div. I honorable mention for offensive player of the week.

Lewisville’s Parker Cox, who had eight tackles and four sacks in the Lions’ loss to Chester, earned the Division II Defensive Lineman of the Week.

Chester High’s T.J. Graham reaped the Division II Offensive Lineman of the Week and Quan Caldwell of the CHS Cyclones was the Division II Offensive Player of the Week.

Other Division I week one winners included Rock Hill’s Travis Strait (offensive lineman) and Easton Templeton (special teams) along with Northwestern quarterback Mason Rudolph (offensive player).

The coaches also honored top performers from week zero.

Lewisville swept the Division II week 0 honors, including Tyrik Anderson (offensive line), Marquis Hart (defensive line), Dre Bailey (offensive player) and Christian Laws (special teams)

Division I week 0 honors include South Pointe High School’s Spencer Strong (offensive line) along with York’s Ethan Whitesides (defensive line), Ryan Moore (offensive player) and Brandon Garvin (defensive player) and Northwestern’s Sully Foy (special teams).

Each week during the high school football regular-season, coaches from the tri-county area (Chester, Lancaster and York counties) meet at the Front Porch Restaurant in Richburg to honor top performers from the previous week of play. Nominations are made by the schools and the coaches vote in each of five categories to determine the winners.
