The volunteer firefighter who broke his back after a fire at Bowers Automotive Auto Sales on Tuesday night is recovering at home.
McDonald Green Volunteer Fire Department firefighter Philip Pegram, 30, fell 12 feet from the attic area of the Lynwood Drive business. He fell on his back, landing on top of the oxygen tank he was wearing, said Lancaster County Emergency Management Director Morris Russell. He sustained a compression fracture to his lower back.
