The four candidates for mayor of Lancaster are scheduled to address questions Monday at the Before You Vote 2010 Candidate Forum at the University of South Carolina at Lancaster’s Bundy Auditorium.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and the forum begins at 6 p.m.
Mayoral candidates are Joe Shaw (incumbent), Linda Blackmon-Brace, Donnie Birchfield and Mary Helen Yarborough.
Other candidates for City Council will also address questions at the forum. Those candidates are: District 1, Kenny Hood (incumbent) and Anthony Elder; and District 5, John P. Howard (incumbent) and Derek Smith.
Candidates for the county school board will also answer questions. Those candidates are: District 1, Don McCorkle (incumbent), Leland Hughes and Kevin Sexton; District 4 (to fill Dr. Peter Barry’s unfilled term), Ronald Burke, Al Simpson and Bill Sumner; and District 7, Mary Etta Taylor (incumbent) and Donald W. Huffman.
City and school board races are all non-partisan, meaning candidates do not run by political party.
