Lancaster County Emergency Management Director Morris Russell announced Tuesday, Jan. 28, that an emergency shelter whould be available for anyone who loses power or heat during the winter storm. Russell said anyone who loses power or heat during the event should call Public Safety Communications at (803) 283-4136 for shelter directions. Russell said the Emergency Management Office will continue to evaluate the need of shelter in the upcoming days.
“The combination of low temperatures, high winds, and the potential for snow/ice accumulation creates a likely potential for issues where citizens may lose power and need help quickly,” Russell said.
