Carolinians who get their electricity from Duke Energy and its various companies set an all-time record for winter power use during the cold snap on Monday, Jan. 6, and Tuesday Jan. 7.
“Despite the challenges of the extremely cold weather, our system has responded well – especially sine we have broken usage marks that had stood for as long as five years,” said Nelson Peeler, Duke Energy’s vice president of system operations in a press release issued Wednesday, Jan. 8.
