Does new courthouse look like Winn Dixie?

Seems County Council’s 2008 agenda includes a brand spanking new courthouse. I read there is some talk about having a vote on the issue. But we all know when the powers that be get a burr under their saddles it’s the tax-paying riders who will have to hang onto the saddle horn. So, it’s pretty much a foregone fact that a new courthouse is on the way and the old Mills designed building will become a possible museum containing some rusty textile equipment to celebrate our heritage, no doubt. If the designated museum is maintained as well as when it was a courthouse, it might be a pile of rubble in five years.

Two questions: Where is the new courthouse gonna be? What’s it gonna look like? Surely, Council has some idea. If Council is awaiting some rendition, it would seem that council members have something in mind for the architect to work on. Be something if it looks sorta like the old Winn Dixie on North Main.

Whatever, let’s hope it will be big enough to accomodate the law and the lawless for years to come.
