Dillon apologizes for blood drive cancellation

I want to personally apologize for the cancellation of the BloodStock blood drive on July 22 at the Van Wyck Community Center. Due to technical difficulties, the blood drive was cancelled.

The donors who had left phone numbers were contacted immediately to inform them of the situation. If you were not called, I apologize. Many people were contacted and were attempted to be contacted and I apologize if you fell through the cracks and were not contacted.

The BloodStock blood drive has been rescheduled for 4-8:30 p.m. Aug. 2 at Van Wyck Presbyterian Church, 5068 Old Hickory Road. I want to encourage everyone to come out and donate blood and not let this cancellation keep you from saving lives.

I am not working for, nor am I affiliated with the American Red Cross. I was working on my own accord in organizing a blood drive for a scholarship program; this is to clear this up for all those who might blame the Red Cross.

Again, I want to apologize for any inconvenience that this situation may have caused you. If you still want to donate and make sure that you are on the list, please call (803) 577-1523.

Thank you.

Joshua Dillon
