Just when I was getting big enough to walk from Chesterfield Avenue to the Imperial Theater on Main Street all by myself, the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, changing things forever.

Our Western heroes of the silver screen were known as much by their attire as their looks.
All the fellas had their favorites.

Mine was clean-cut Hopalong Cassidy, who in real life was William Boyd.
