Lots of coaches say that individual stats don’t matter and that winning and losing is all that really matters. Unlike many coaches, Larry Davis, whose Lewisville Lions play Whale Branch for the state title Saturday, actually believes it.
When he was introduced as the new head coach of the Lions on June 28, 2011, Davis was stunned to learn that his old state record for points scored in a season (1,162 in 1991) still stood.
