After missteps by two competitors, Van Wyck native Shawn Crawford took silver in the men’s 200-meter final on Wednesday.
Crawford, 30, was originally out of the medals at the end of the race. But U.S. teammate Wallace Spearmon and Churundy Martina of Netherlands Antilles stepped on lane lines, leading to disqualifications.
That elevated Crawford, who entered as the defending Olympic champion, to silver and teammate Walter Dix to bronze.
