Shawn Crawford’s run for London fell shy of an 2012 Olympic quest Sunday afternoon at the U.S. Olympic Trials for track and field at Heyward Field at the University of Oregon.
Crawford, 34, was hoping to earn his third Summer Olympics berth, but his effort fell short with a 20.37 to place seventh in the final eight.
Crawford, the Van Wyck native and former Indian Land High School track champion, captured Olympic gold in Athens, Greece and won the silver in the 2008 Games in Beijing.
