Cox's one-shot win nets SCJGA Pee Wee crown

Emily Cox won the 14th annual SCJGA Pee Wee Championship at Columbia Country Club on March 10-11.

Cox won with a one-shot margin of victory in the girls’ 10-12 bracket for a two-day total of 80.

She shot a 39-41 to capture the crown. She highlighted her play with a birdie each day.

West Columbia’s Jensen Castle was second with an 81.

Clara Park of Daniel Island finished third in the tournament.

Cox also took the SCJGA One Day victory at the Lancaster Country Club.

Cox is a member of the Lancaster High School varsity girls golf team and the Andrew Jackson High School varsity boys golf team.

Cox is also a member of the Lancaster chapter of the S.C. Junior Golf Association.

Cox, 12, is a seventh grader at Andrew Jackson Middle School.
