County quartet reaps Tri-County honors

RICHBURG – Four Lancaster County high school football players drew recognition during the meeting of the Founders Federal Tri-County Football Coaches Association meeting on Tuesday.Each week during the prep football regular-season, coaches from Chester, Lancaster and York counties meet at the Front Porch Restaurant in Richburg to honor top performers from the previous week’s games.Lancaster High School senior defensive lineman Casey Truesdale, Andrew Jackson’s Dylan Knight, Indian Land’s Chad Carlton and Luke Lambert garnered accolades in their respective divisions.In Division I voting, Truesdale was named the Defensive Lineman of the week for his play in the Bruins’ 27-9 road win over county rival Buford High School.Truesdale notched 11 tackles and caused a fumble for the Bruins who improved to 3-0 on the season with the 18-point win over the previously unbeaten Yellow Jackets.Knight, in AJ’s first win – a 27-15 win over Class A foe North Central, graded 90 percent and registered three knockdown blocks for the Vols. Knight’s play was a key reason the 1-2 Vols were able to compile 270 yards total offense on NCHS.Knight was named the Division II Offensive Lineman of the Week.Carlton and Lambert were saluted for their performances in the Warriors’ 35-0 home loss to Class AA power Central High School of Pageland.Carlton posted 13 tackle to reap the Division II Defensive Player of the Week. Lambert along with Nation Ford’s Dee Truesdale were co-recipients of the Division II Special Teams Player of the Week.Lambert punted nine times for a 42-yard average with two punts over 50 yards.Truesdale returned a punt 56 yards to spark the Falcons to a win over Lewisville.The Division I winners included Justin Worley of Northwestern (offensive player of the week), Dillon Blackmon of South Pointe (offensive lineman of the week), Harold White of South Pointe (defensive player of the week) and Chris Landvik-Larsen of Fort Mill (special teams player of the week).Lancaster had several honorable mentions including Zed Truesdale (offensive player of the week), William Kirkland (offensive lineman of the week), Dawan Thompson (defensive player of the week).AJ Division II honorable mentions included Daniel Pardue (offensive player) and Nico Perry (defensive player).Indian Land Division II honorable mentions were Breyon Williams (offensive player) and Keyadd Miller (defensive lineman).Lewisville High School Division II honorable mentions were Isaiah Johnson (offensive player, special teams player), Timmy McCullough (defensive player) and Jeremy Green (defensive lineman).
