County fortunate to have quality legislators

-A A +A

We, the people of Lancaster County, should be proud that with House and Senate district changes, we now have Rep. Jay Lucas, District 65, as speaker pro-tempore.
The changes make him the No. 2 representative in the general assembly and he’s there representing the people of Chesterfield, Darlington, Kershaw and Lancaster counties.
Lucas is a person who can and will work with other legislators. With Sens. Vincent Sheheen and Greg Gregory, along with Reps. Jimmy Neal, Deborah Long and Laurie S. Funderburk, Lancaster should look for an extraordinarily successful year. Having this group is a plus for Lancaster County.
We, as the people of Lancaster County, have lost a very good representative, Jimmy Neal, who is not running for office again. We want to thank him for what he has done for Lancaster County.
Lancaster County has been fortunate to have had good senators and representatives in past years. They include Tom Mangum, Grant Mobley, Caldwell “Red” Hinson, “Son” Roddey, Bruce Williams, Billy Boan and Eldridge Emory.
