The South Carolina unemployment rate dropped in November and is the closest this state has been to the national rate since 2002, according to a release issued by the S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce on Friday, Dec. 20.
The national unemployment rate for November was estimated at 7.0 percent, down from 7.3 percent in October, the release said.
The South Carolina unemployment rate declined to 7.1 percent from the October rate of 7.5 percent.
