KERSHAW – Jody Connell is Kershaw's newest Town Council member.

Connell came out on top in the three-way race for the District 3 seat in the town's election Tuesday, March 19.

Connell received 38 votes (just over 53 percent). Charles Stroud got 24 votes (34 percent) and  William “Bill” Walters II got nine (13 percent).

Connell succeeds Randy Seegars, who decided not to seek re-election due to health reasons.

Harvey Truesdale is the new District 4 councilman. He replaces Morris Russell, who recently moved out of the district. And Eddie Coates will serve another four years in his At-Large seat.

Because Truesdale and Coates ran unopposed, neither man's name appeared on Tuesday's ballot.
