Clover built a 1-0 halftime lead and added three second-half goals on the way to a 4-0 win over Lancaster High School at Memorial Stadium on Friday night.
The Lady Bruins fell to 12-4, 4-4 in region play.
Spartanburg forged a 2-1 halftime lead and stayed on top for a 4-2 win over Lancaster in Region III-AAAA girls soccer play Thursday night.
Frances Whitesides scored two goals, one on a breakaway, to lead the Lady Bruins.
Mallory Blackmon had an assist in the match.
The Lady Bruins visit Northwestern of Rock Hill on Tuesday.
The Lancaster girls host Rock Hill on Thursday when the Lady Bruins will hold their cancer survivors recognition at 6:30 p.m.
The Lancaster boys, who fell to Clover, 5-1, will travel to Spartanburg on Monday to make up their region match which was rained out last Tuesday.
Jackets rebound
Buford rebounded from a tough 1-0 loss to the Governor’s School to take an 8-2 Region IV-AA road win over Cheraw on Thursday.
Tyler Jenkins and Mikeem McKinney, who had two assists, each scored three goals for the Jackets. Josh Roach netted two goals and had an assist.
Danielle Beard had an assist as did Jennifer Knight, who had her first-ever assist.
Matt Ellis, who had nine saves against the Governor’s School, had eight saves against the Braves.
BHS coach John Bundy saluted Cody Rutledge and Brandon Gossman for their tough play.
“Those guys reflected our overall team play,” Bundy said. “We were unselfish and responded after a tough loss.”
BHS, 3-7, hosts region and county foe Andrew Jackson on Tuesday and visits Lewisville on Thursday.
Warriors roll
Indian Land pushed its soccer mark to 13-3 with a 5-0 win over Richland Northeast on Friday night.
Nick Outen scored three goals and Will Medlock added two goals.
Five different players had assists for the Warriors, including Shea Rodgers, Nick Retter, Michael Rodriguez, Jordan Szustwal and Anthony Cutrone.
Indian Land had 17 shots on goal to seven for RNE.
Warriors’ keepers Trevor Hoxworth (three saves) and Jake Barton (two saves) teamed for the shutout.
The Warriors blitzed Chester 18-0 on Thursday.
Nick Outen led the Warriors with five goals and an assist. Will Medlock and Nick Retter each had three goals and two assists. Anthony Cutrone posted two goals and two assists.
Jordan Szustwal had a goal and two assists. Zac Patterson, Michael Rodriguez, Elijah Roberts and Drew Richardson each had one goal.
Eric Sandor registered four assists. Carson McGinn, Shea Rodgers, Drew Richardson and Jake Retter each had one assist.
Indian Land had 38 shots on goal. Trevor Hoxworth and Jake Barton each had two saves.
