Lancaster Post 31 fell to 5-11, 2-8 with an 8-1 League V American Legion baseball loss to Clover on Monday night at Eggleton Field.Clover built a 5-1 lead in the sixth inning and cruised to the seven-run win over Lancaster, which dropped its fifth straight loss.Veteran left-hander Evan Byrd, who worked five innings, took the loss. Tyler Vaughn went three innings and Ross Maiden hurled one frame.The trio combined to allow eight runs, eight hits and six walks. They teamed to strike out 12 batters.Rico Robinson led the Lancaster offense with two hits. Maiden, Josh Eubanks and Justin Hinson each had a hit for Lancaster.Post 31 visited Rock Hill on Tuesday night, but the game was completed after The News’ deadline for Wednesday’s paper.See Friday’s edition for a complete report.
