What should be required physically of law enforcement officials? How fit and in shape do you expect your local police officers to be? And to what standards should they be held?
Those questions and more were asked Tuesday when Lancaster Police Chief Hugh White updated City Council members on the police department’s physical abilities test.
In May 2008, council unanimously voted to allow White to implement the testing program, which consists of an obstacle course that all officers are asked to complete in 2 minutes and 16 seconds.
