After weeks of talk about taxes, fees and funding for special projects, there was virtually no budget discussion at City Council’s most recent meeting Tuesday, June 11.
That night, council voted unanimously on final reading to adopt the city’s budget for 2013-14, which is set at $23.39 million. The vote came in a smooth, expeditious fashion, as there wasn’t any debate among council members or city staff.
The 2013-14 budget includes a 5-mill property-tax increase that will result in a roughly $20 annual tax increase on a $100,0000 owner-occupied home.
