Gospel choir concert
Centennial A.M.E. Zion Church, 1852 Flat Creek Road, will hold a gospel choir concert at 7 p.m. today, May 10, and Saturday, May 11. The concert will celebrate the choir’s 57th anniversary and includes singing, fellowship and food. Other guest groups will appear. Yard sale

Women’s breakfast

Flapjack fundraiser
The Catawba Baptist Church youth group will hold a flapjack fundraiser from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at Applebee’s, 1268 S.C. 9 Bypass West. Tickets are $6 and may be purchased at the door or by calling (704) 361-4815. Proceeds benefit youth group’s ongoing community outreach efforts.   

Singles lunch

Barbecue fundraiser
The youth of First Baptist Church of Kershaw, 210 N. Matson St., Kershaw, will hold a barbecue plate fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m Saturday, May 11, in the fellowship hall. Plates are $8 and include barbecue, hash and rice, baked beans, coleslaw, bread and dessert. I drink will be provided if you eat-in. Proceeds benefit the summer youth camp. Lunch time delivery orders for businesses are available for Friday, May 10. SCREAM conference
SCREAM will hold a women’s conference at 9 a.m. May 18, at Lancaster County Recreation Center, 260 S. Plantation Road. The focus of the conference is releasing, letting go and relying on God. Speakers include Karen Mingo, Marquita Hinson and the Rev. Janice Lake. The Rev. Brittney Johnson will provide music.

Rainbow tea party

Senior adult day
White Springs Baptist Church, 1249 Grace Ave., will celebrate senior adult day May 19. The day will begin at 8 a.m with breakfast, Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. and morning worship service at 11 a.m. The Rev. Thurmond Johnson will bring the message and there will be testimonies and special music, “Wonder of Wonders,” by the senior adult choir and guest from area churches at 6 p.m.

Glenwood Heights Baptist Church, 600 Nichols Road, Lancaster, will celebrate homecoming at 11 a.m. May 19. Several pastors will be speaking. Community picnic
Saint Luke United Methodist Church, 128 Providence Road, will hold its annual community picnic from 3 to 6 p.m. May 19, at the church’s picnic shelter. The event is free and includes food, inflatables, a waterslide, cornhole tournament and Praise band concert.
