Christmas in August Aug. 26

High Point Baptist Church, 1888 Rocky River Road, Lancaster, will hold a Christmas in August event at 7 a.m. Aug. 26 in the church’s fellowship hall. Some new and slightly used Christmas items will be sold, along with sausage and bacon biscuits. All proceeds benefit Operation Christmas Child.

Sunday school training Aug. 26

Hyde Park golf tournament

Hyde Park Baptist Church will hold its 10th annual golf tournament at 1 p.m. Aug. 26 at Lancaster Golf Course, 1821 Springs Club Road, Lancaster, with lunch at noon. 

The captain’s choice tournament costs $55 per golfer and includes lunch, cart fees and green fees. 

Prizes include $700 for first place, $400 for second place, $300 for fifth place, $200 for 10th place and awards for closest-to-the-pin and long-drive holes, along with a putting contest.

Church singing benefit Aug. 26

Cedar Rock Baptist Church, 3650 Stoneboro Road, Heath Springs, will hold at special singing during services at 6 p.m. Aug. 26. The event features Conquerors, The Stover Family and more. It is free, but a donation will be taken up to benefit the hospital bills of Cashlin Izzard. He has a rare form of cancer and has been in and out of Levine Children’s Hospital over the past few weeks.
